Finnish Transport and Logistics – SKAL is working in various ways to reduce environmental pollution.
In autumn 2008 SKAL set up the Litre per Day energy efficiency club for its members with a view to helping enterprises make environmental protection measures part of the daily operating format. The Litre per Day club gives members practical tips on how to make minor adjustments that have a major impact on the environment. Club members also receive a monthly newsletter with the latest environmental information.
In January 2008 Finnish Transport and Logistics – SKAL concluded an energy efficiency agreement for goods haulage and logistics with the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. This agreement covers the period 2008-2016 and seeks to encourage businesses in the industry to implement voluntary energy conservation measures.
